Emotional Support for Parents

At Abbie's Army, we are committed to supporting families across the UK who have children diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine glioma (DIPG).

As parents who have faced this devastating diagnosis ourselves, we understand the emotional challenges you are going through and are here to offer our help and guidance.

Every family’s journey with DIPG is unique. We recognise that each family has different needs and we are here to provide personalised support.

Impartial Advice

While we don't offer medical opinions, we are committed to helping you navigate the information and options available. We offer impartial and objective advice about treatment options.

Our goal is to help you understand the evidence-based information from the research community, ensuring you have the most complete and informed guidance available.

Connecting with Other Families

We can connect you with other families who have first hand experience with various treatments.

Whether you're newly diagnosed or newly bereaved, speaking with others who are at a similar stage can be incredibly valuable.

Online Support Networks

Many parents find support through online communities. We can assist you in connecting with these networks, including numerous Facebook groups, some of which are private.

These groups can be a resource for research information, trial treatments, advocacy, and support following bereavement. However, please be aware that these forums can be intense and may not be suitable for everyone, especially in the early stages of diagnosis.
